SPEED CAMP – 5 FUNDAMENTALS TENANTS OF CONDITIONING

EAP’S CONDITIONING METHODOLOGY IS BASED UPON 5 FUNDAMENTAL TENANTS:

1) General & Active Dynamic Warm-upThe cornerstone of EAP program, is the warm-up, which focuses on specific exercises and choreographed maneuvers during dynamic muscular movement to increase body core temperature and blood flow.

2) Movement Skill MethodsThis phase is focused on the five areas important to a strong and powerful foundation: static posture, acceleration, deceleration and change of direction as well as maximum speed.

3) Strength and Power DevelopmentAlso focused on four areas,  muscular metabolic systems (i.e. aerobic – anaerobic lactic – anaerobic alactic);  Central Nervous System (CNS); Priopceptive system (i.e. the postural system – eyes, ears, jaw, feet & skin); & the Elastic system (i.e. plyometrics – tendon & ligament integrity), in order to create strength, power and stabilization throughout the body.

“Gravity pulls the body downwards, as the Inside Muscles (i.e. the Tonic Postural Muscles), decompress the joints and other structures to ground the body); as the Outside Muscles (i.e. the Phasic Muscles), rotate & extend the body to release the power”

4) Total ConditioningThe final phase is focused on athletes who want to reach an athletic potential that they may not be aware exists within themselves by extending a lot of power over extended periods of time.

5) Rest & Regenerationathletes must learn that what they do outside of their sport and conditioning can negatively or positively impact their overall performance. Proper sleep, nutrition, lifestyle habits and restorative techniques can greatly enhance performance.
