Frequently Asked Questions About EAP Youth Conditioning

Q) How many times can my youth/athlete train per week and what is optimal?

A) The amount of training per week depends on the specific EAP program. Some programs are unlimited, while others are specific to a number of days per week. The optimal amount of training per week again depends on the program, but in general 2 – 3 days per week is average.

Q) What is the best EAP program for my youth/athlete?

A) The best programming for your youth/athlete depends on his/her goals, and yours. The only way to determine the best fit is to contact EAP and book an evaluation. During that time, EAP will discuss the results of the evaluation, along with goals and recommend the most appropriate program for your youth/athlete.

Q) What is best if my youth is not an athlete and he or she is just looking to get into shape?

A) If your youth is looking to get active, lose weight and/or get in shape, then the Total Conditioning is the answer. Many of our Total Conditioning youth find the “athlete within them” during the Total Conditioning experience and go on to train like an athlete in our sports performance program.

Q) What is youth sports performance training?

A) Sports performance training is a relatively new term. It focuses on training a young athlete to be the best he/she can be in his/her chosen sport. The training includes the foundations of any good athlete: speed, agility, strength and self-confidence. And, an added benefit of good sports performance training is a reduction of sports related injuries.

Q) How much does it cost?

A) EAP programming has a variety of pricing offerings to fit into any budget. We offer “pay up front” and monthly options. EAP offers no-contract and contract options based on what works best for your situation, as well as flexibility to “freeze” EAP participation during your athlete’s sports season.

Q) How does scheduling work?

A) EAP offers every 50-minute to 1-hour program at least once a day and usually multiple times per day. Since most youth/athletes train 2 – 3 times per week, this schedule provides the maximum flexibility for your busy schedule. We even offer Saturday (and sometimes Sunday) classes. Contact EAP for specifics about scheduling.

Q) How many youth/athletes are in a class?

A) Class size depends on the program, but generally we follow class sizes below:

EAP Youth Conditioning – 2 to 6

EAP Jump Start and EAP Total Performance – 2 to 4

EAP PEAK – 1- 2

Q) Does the program include weight lifting? I have heard that is unsafe for young children?

A) EAP Total Conditioning and EAP Jump Start programs do not include weight lifting, but use body weight techniques to increase strength in a safe and effective way. Athletes in the EAP Total Performance and EAP PEAK programs will incorporate carefully scripted and monitored weight lifting into their programs. All of our strength scripts for these programs have been written and approved by experts in the field of youth sports performance. You can rest assured that your athlete will be well taken care of in our programs!

Q) How long will it take to see results?

A) Results depend on the effort your youth/athlete puts into the program. Most youth/athletes who come 2 – 3 times per week and are engaged in the session’s will feel and see immediate results, but you will begin seeing results after only several weeks. If you ever question your youth/athlete’s progress, the EAP staff will be happy to conduct an updated evaluation.

Q) How is the EAP program different than other youth sports performance offerings?

A) EAP, has been training young athletes for 20-years. EAP methodologies and programming where built for youth, NOT an adult program that is “customized” for youth. EAP has been in the business of training youth since it’s inception…it is not simply another market beyond adult to sell for us!

Q) How many times can my child train per week and what is optimal?

A) There is no limit on the number of times your child can participate in EAP Classes. They can come everyday if they like. To receive the minimum benefit your child should try and train with us at EAP at least one time per week.

Q) What is the difference between the Total Conditioning and the Sports Performance Program and which one is best for my child?


A) EAP Total Conditioning is a total body-conditioning workout focusing on cardiovascular fitness. These workouts are performed in larger groups, are faster paced and non-stop for 50 minutes. EAP Sports Performance classes are based on individualized instruction and education using customized workouts in small groups.

Q) When are the classes offered and do I have to pre-schedule my child to attend?

A) There are several different levels EAP Classes that are offered everyday at various times. It is recommended that you pre-schedule your child for these classes, but is not mandatory. Your child can show up and take a class, but they are not guaranteed a spot. By scheduling, you guarantee a spot for the class.

Q) What happens if my child is not able to attend the EAP Speed School for the time that I committed for?

A) In the event you permanently relocate more than 50 miles outside Toronto City limits, your contract may be canceled with proper documentation. In the event your child becomes unable to perform training at the EAP Speed School due to a medical reason, the membership may be frozen and extended beyond the contractual dates. This extension must be submitted during the time of your child’s initial membership and needs to be authorized with a physician’s note. Extensions will not be granted if applied for after the contractual expiration date.
